The new Crop Wild Relatives (CWR) animated video is live! The video, which aims to inform audiences about the importance of crop wild relatives in plain language, explains that CWR are simply the wild ‘cousins’ of our cultivated crops. In the same way that the house cat is related to the lion, CWR are related to our food plants.

These ‘wild’ crops, which can be found anywhere from the top of a mountain top to a dry desert plain can withstand diverse climatic conditions. Through breeding efforts, these wild species can help us adapt our food crops to be more resilient and productive in the midst of climate change. We invite you to watch the video now to learn more, and share it with your friends and colleagues!
