The Project’s collecting efforts in Nigeria are coordinated by the National Centre for Genetic Resources and Biotechnology (NACGRAB), a governmental institution established by Nigeria’s Ministry of Science and Technology to conduct research and disseminate information related to genetic resources conservation and use.

Collectors from the National Centre for Genetic Resources and Biotechnology will target crop wild relatives from eight wild genepools: Bambara groundnut, cowpea, eggplant, finger millet, pearl millet, rice, sorghum, and sweet potato. Collecting will take place during the project period of 2015-2017.
